In this unit we will be producing, recording, and publishing educational podcasts. See below for examples of podcasts being used in education, and also tutorials to use the software that is currently available to us for the unit. If you are using a windows computer, you will be using Audacity, and if you are using an apple you will use Garageband. See below for examples, start with the first one which I made for you: Please return to this page as you begin to experiment with both of these powerful programs for audio creation.

Podcast Examples:

Intro to podcasting by Mr. Martin:

Check out this school! Very advanced at podcasting, be sure to visit the students at Radio WillowWeb
A fifth grade class podcast
end punctuation video podcast
Educational Podcast Network-Lots of student examples

Audacity Resources:

This is a really basic Audacity tutorial. Here is how to download the program, which is already been done, and what we really need to learn is how to use the buttons to record the audio.

This has lots of fast-moving information with links, zooming, music. A great example of a video podcast.

Garageband (by Apple) Resources

Have you ever used Garageband before? If not, this short video tutorial is the place to start! This shows the basics of opening the program, recording, and recording again if you make a mistake.

There is an online video tutorial program, the next three links are from there:
Garageband basics video, or see all the videos from the table of contents page

Garageband podcast tracks video

This above video goes into detail about all the little buttons on each track. Somewhat long but useful for individual track recordings.
